In this world of social networks and communication, when an event takes place anywhere in the world, we know about it in seconds.
The news is important to keep up to date and find out what is happening in the world. However, what is happening to me lately is that when I watch them on TV, they only tell horrific events, and I get depressed immediately.
The news that has struck me the most has been the unfortunate story of little Julen, a two-year-old boy who rushed through a prospecting well in the Spanish town of Totalán, in the province of Málaga (Spain). The boy was there with his family when running and playing with his cousins rushed to a hole, a hole which was 71 meters deep and 25 centimeters in diameter.
The news had me glued to the screen the thirteen days that the rescue lasted which 300 people participated in. It was 13 days of agony, uncertainty and sadness.
Finally on January 26, 2019, rescue teams accessed the point of the well where Julen was sought and located the child's lifeless body between two layers of land.
The news is a tool that keeps us from being isolated from the rest of the plant. However, these tell the reality that happens in the world. And it is not always a beautiful reality, as we have seen with the story of little Julen.
